About Agnès
I grew up in France before moving to Cambridge, Ma at the age of 26. I worked in education all my life, enjoying teaching every grade from Kindergarten to Seniors in High School. I ran experiential and mindfulness workshops, and compiled inspirational speeches into a book for educators called “Openings.” Now a full-time artist, I aim to evoke motion and emotion in my pieces, often using nature as a place of inspiration. I try to capture the “numinous”. Alison Gopnik describes it as a return to child-like/ beginner’s mind. She writes:” It could just be your garden or the street that you’re walking on. And suddenly that becomes illuminated.” I mostly work in watercolor, ink, and collages. Most recently I exhibited work in Japan that reflected my experiences with the Itoshima community.
